Refugee Family Update - July 9

Saturday Greetings!  This afternoon our Refugee Committee met again to look at housing / and the process of bringing the Family to Bolton.  The lease has been partially signed - and will be completed on Tuesday Morning at COSTI.  The same day our refugee family will meet their Canadian Immigration worker, and receive their first check from the Canadian Government.  (Since the family is a JAS case - they are being partially supported by the Canadian Government.)
The Lease will take place starting July 15 - so we hope to have them come up on Wednesday and stay with our Committee members to get some of the items - and to shop for some basic needs.  We also hope to get the utilities hooked up this week.

As far as Furniture - here is what they get from the Government of Canada Allowance - it is a Package deal!

5 single beds / 5 metal frames; 2 double dressers (each with mirror); 4 table lamps & 2 floor lamps; 3 seater sofa & 2 armchairs; & a 7 piece Kitchen set
We are in need of 2 items:
1 or 2 Dehumidifier(s)
1 or 2 Bundle Buggies
(Picture on left)

The bundle Buggy allows them to bring their groceries / shopping home.  They will not have a car for a while, and will be walking everywhere in town.  Thankfully the house that they are renting is centrally located and close to Schools, shops, and the Language instruction at CCS.

Peace
